Urban Beach comes to Broadmead

Combining shopping with a coffee or a pleasant meal is established as the perfect way to relax and spend time with your friends and family in Bristol Shopping Quarter.

But now retailers are going a step further and offering you the chance to relax on the beach during shopping sessions – bringing all the fun of the seaside to the centre of Bristol.

An urban beach will arrive at The Podium from 20 July to 1 September creating a fantastic day out for all the family. Pull up a deckchair beneath the palm trees whilst the children build sandcastles on the beach. Fancy a bite to eat….? Then how about a visit to the Waikiki Grill for Barbeque food at its finest….. Quarter Pound Burgers, Jerk Chicken and Sizzling Sausages to name abut a few.

How about a cocktail, chilled beer or cider over ice served at the Palms Beach Bar. Cool down  at the  ice-cream shack or take a visit to the European Sweet Factory.

If all the free activities on the beach still haven’t worn the children out, how about some bumper fun on the Aqua Boats or try your skill on the Water Walkers, bounce high into the sky on the Beach Bungee’s or win a prize on the Boardwalk Game Shack.

“There’s always something happening across Bristol Shopping Quarter,” says Jo Hawkins, City Centre Retail Manager at Destination Bristol.

“BID funds provide resources for an active marketing and events programme right across the central retail area. This creates a seamless offering with the activities organised in Cabot Circus or at The Podium.”
