‘Welcome Hosts’ are set to become a new feature of shopping in Bristol Shopping Quarter this July, following the launch of a special trial aimed to make the shopping area more welcoming to visitors.
Smartly dressed in bespoke eye-catching uniforms, the Welcome Hosts will meet and greet customers, answer questions and help them find exactly what they are looking for.
The new hosts are part of Bristol Shopping Quarter’s strategy to continuously improve the quality of the shopping experience in Bristol’s city centre shopping area. They will provide directions and information about the local Bristol area.
“The Welcome Hosts have been introduced using Business Improvement District (BID) funds,” explains Jo Hawkins, City Centre Retail Manager, for Destination Bristol.
“Hosts will guide shoppers across the entire Bristol Shopping Quarter area, which encompasses, Broadmead, Cabot Circus and the Galleries. This is part of our BID strategy to present the whole central shopping area as a single experience.”
Ana Crespo and Luke Malloy started their posts on 3rd July and will be a highly visible presence throughout July. As well as providing information for customers, they will work with the BID team, liaising with retailers on a daily basis. If the trial is successful, this initiative may be introduced during key trading periods in the future.
