Summer safari time in Bristol Shopping Quarter

The Broadmead BID team has planned a family-friendly series of free activities on the pedestrianised area of Broadmead to keep customers entertained on Saturdays throughout the summer holidays.

This summer the Broadmead BID team will be joining forces with Heart FM to deliver free family-friendly activities from 10am until 5pm on Saturdays 25th July; 1st, 15th, 22nd and 29th August. On each date the Heart Angels will be outside either Marks and Spencer, St James Arcade or HMV with a different themed activity, including a photo booth, mini zoo, and arts & crafts. There will be deck chairs for tired parents and grandparents who want to put their feet up for a while and giant games for competitive kids.

The Galleries shopping centre will be joining in the fun with safari arts and crafts and face painting located on the ground floor from 11am until 4pm on the same days.

Jo Hawkins, Broadmead BID manager says:

“We’re expecting a busy summer in Bristol Shopping Quarter, especially as the Shaun the Sheep Trail will be bringing extra visitors to Broadmead, The Galleries and Cabot Circus. We’re always looking for different ways to enhance the shopping experience and are delighted to be able to provide these free activities to help families keep the children entertained.”

Colin Lang, Centre Manager at The Galleries adds:

“These events will be great fun, making for a memorable shopping experience for the whole family. Having just welcomed Caffè Nero into The Galleries, new fashion chain Pep&Co will also be opening at the start of August, so do come on in and see what’s new in the centre! We have also just extended our opening hours, so you can also now shop until 7pm from Monday through to Saturday.”
