INTERNATIONALLY ACCLAIMED STREET PERFORMERS TO VISIT BROADMEAD

London’s spectacular street performers will be visiting Broadmead on Thursday 30th May as part of the Covent Garden Tour.

Internationally acclaimed and record-breaking entertainers including grannies, robots, living dolls and escape artists will gather in Bristol’s shopping centre from 11.30am-4pm to astonish and delight audiences with a variety of tricks, shows and stunts.

The event is organised by the Broadmead BID (Business Improvement District) team as part of their Spring/ Summer programme for Broadmead’s shoppers and retailers. The BID initiative has seen the area host a range of exciting events for its visitors, and is due for a vote on its renewal this September.

Performers will include Dynamike, who is famed for juggling chainsaws and machetes and riding the tallest unicycle on the street performers’ circuit. Shopping trolley dance troupe Granny Turismo will also be present as well as Guinness World Record holding football juggler Victor Rubilar, who has demonstrated his incredible skills alongside the likes of famous footballers past and present including Pele, Lionel Messi and Didier Drogba.

Further performers include artist Kate Mior, who will dazzle Broadmead shoppers with beautiful costumes and living doll impressions, and energetic 7-foot tall dancing robot, Robot Rock. The tour is also joined by daredevil escape artist Rob Roy Collins, who famously escaped from a straitjacket while hanging upside down from a helicopter in flight.

With the variety of performers on offer, this remarkable event is perfect for the whole family. Donations for Marie Curie Cancer Care will be collected throughout the day.

Jo Hawkins, Broadmead BID manager, said: “I’m delighted that these wonderful performers will be visiting Broadmead and I’m sure this vibrant slice of London will prove extremely popular with our shoppers. The BID team work hard to ensure that Broadmead can offer top quality and unique experiences such as this one. This event is certainly not to be missed.”
